My name is Dinesh Natarajan Mohan and my background is in reporting and analytics. I have led teams of managers, analysts and developers in building strong reporting and analytical platforms that helped make sound business decisions in Marketing and Operations domains of large corporations in U.S.  LinkedIn profile.

I believe that simple tools can lead to effective solutions for common needs at home and in business environments. These tools, developed to leverage the power of computers and commonly available software, can vastly improve decision making. It can help us save time, money and energy. My goal is to build and share such tools/solutions. I also hope to learn a lot along the way.

In order for my solutions to reach a wide audience, I decided to choose from the most commonly available software applications on computers worldwide. I chose Microsoft Excel as it is not only one of the most widely available and used applications in the world, it is also one of the most powerful ones. Though I have used it for more than 13 years (on and off), I am not even close to an Excel expert. I learn a lot everyday from Excel experts (List of Excel Experts that I learn from) The users need to have just Microsoft Excel installed in their computers in order to benefit from my solutions.
I am now creating and sharing Microsoft Excel templates. Even though I am calling them ‘templates’, they are just Excel documents (.xlsx) that you can download and use for your purpose with your own data. They are built with the following in mind:
  • Ease of use:
    • My solutions do not require expertise in Excel. They are built with Excel beginners in mind. I take steps during template creation to eliminate occurrence of errors due to wrong data entry. I also provide actionable error messages where appropriate.
  • Practical functionality
    • The template should actually be useful for the user in a real-life scenario.
  • Clear instructions
    • I provide detailed blog posts and video tutorials about the features of the templates and how to use them.
  • Support
    • I listen to user feedback and improve the templates in order to make them useful for as many as possible.
The templates help with:
  • Making smarter decisions
  • Automating recurring tasks and saving time
  • Eliminating manual errors
  • Assisting in information management and retrieval
So far, I have created Excel templates for Small Businessesproject management, HRfinance management, calendars, Data Visualization and School. I hope you find this site useful. If you like it, please share with others. If you have any feedback, please e-mail me (indzara@gmail.com)  or post your comments here.
Thanks for your support.

  1. Hi,

I have a small business and I have been collecting leads from different sources. the total excel database is 17000 records.

I want to create a CRM system in excel that allows me to see potential revenue, actual customers, I have a ranking of ABCD customers, notes from previous phone calls, schedule new phone calls base on date and follow up, also I want to keep my excel file database as a main source for the CRM system in a different file.
Can you do that? how much is going to cost?

    1. Hello
Thanks for sharing your requirements. However, we are not accepting any customized projects now.
      Best wishes

  2. Hi

I purchased the resource capacity planning tool, I can see that it only accepts a few resources , I run a number of projects that might accommodate 500 resources at once, how can I extend it to cover this load.

    1. Thanks for purchasing. It can support up to 300 resources. Extending to more resources will require some development. It also leads to a larger file size and slower performance.
Please let us know if there are any questions.
      Best wishes.

  4. Hi,
I’m Priya Koshy a recruiter. This excel tutorial is very informative and great way to track applicants. I have a question do you have any other tracker which could import applicant’s email address and other relevant data.

    1. Hello Priya,

      Thanks for your kind words.
Please review our templates on human resources at https://indzara.com/hr-excel-templates/
Macros are not used in our templates, hence, automatic importing of details is restricted.

  5. Hi There, I’m trying to download the “Resource Capacity Planner” template but the hyperlink is not working. Could you let me know?

  6. Hi – I purchased the Event Calendar maker yesterday and was asked to see if it can do the following.

    • Add a multi-date indicator or a way to have 2 events on the same date and still use the Yearly calendar option (my boss really likes the 4×3 grid option)?
    • Add a hover or pop up to indicate the type of training happening in addition to the legend that appears at the bottom of the same calendar option?
    • Is there a way to add who is attending each training?

I did watch your video on how to customize the calendar but that didn’t address what is being asked of our organization. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

    1. Thanks for purchasing.

      1. Sorry, showing two event colors on the same date will require dramatically different design.
      2. Adding a pop up would require a macro and we currently don’t add macros to our templates.
      3. Currently, there is not a way to do this.

The features you are looking for, make a lot of sense. However, our template is not specifically designed for that.

Please let me know if there are any questions.
      Thanks & Best wishes.

    1. We have to modify the formulas to support two tax rates. If there are specific requirements, please email contact@indzara.com

  8. Hi! I just purchased your Retail Business Manager. I am happy with all it can do, however, I want to add two more columns to calculate my entire cost for a particular product – 1.the cost of the item, 2. my overhead and labor expense, and 3.the cost of the material I use to make my item ready for sale. Can you please help me with this? I don’t want to mess with the formulas in place. Thanks for your help.

    1. Thanks for purchasing. I am glad to hear that you find it useful.
Please add columns to the Products sheet to do these calculations. Additional columns will not impact the formulas. As a good practice, please save a copy of the file before you make these changes.
      Best wishes.

    1. Thanks for using the template.
Price will be calculated if there is a matching price in the Prices sheet for that product for that order date. Please check.
Also, this feature does not work in older versions of Excel. Please specify Excel version.
      Best wishes.
